So…
I’m in radio…
So…
I know how to get concert tickets…
So…
People take advantage of me. However I did get the funniest letter from my good friend Randy and I need to help the poor boy. Read and enjoy
Hi Sean,
I had a question/request which is a blantant use/abuse and exploitation of our friendship, so I thought I would at least get that out of the way first so you knew what you were getting into before reading the rest of this e-mail.
It involves concert tickets……………………
…
…
…
That should give you ample amount of time to stop reading and keep our friendship intact. If you are still reading, then the blatant use of our friendship request is following…..
Since the last concert I remember going to was the Moody Blues while I was still living in Lubbock, I thought I would solict some advice/help.
I wanted to take Shelley to see Matina McBride at Nokia in Grand Prairie on July 13th for our aniversary, and I wanted to get her some good tickets. Tickets go on sale this Friday, but I am going to be in New Orleans at a meeting all day staff meeting.
Do you have any advice or contacts on how to get good tickets without sitting through the ticketmaster phone bank during work hours or wait till the next day to get not so great tickets? I am not looking for free tickets (although I wouldn’t turn them down), but I don’t want to pay scalper prices for decent seats. Trying to find a way to get good face value tickets. Thought you might have some insight or assistance with this. I think Nokia is a pretty small venue, so I don’t want to procrastinate like I usually do. Even if it is just tips for dealing with ticketmaster, that would help.
As I said – blantant abouse of friendship. If you even need your sewer re-sized, just let me know and I will repay the favor. I am still trying to figure when I I will need to buy a tractor to cash in on some of Mitch’s favors, but can’t figure out one yet. And while the really cool Plasma TV’s would be really cool, unfortantlly Craig can only get the the pre proccessed chip, not the actual TV, so he is usless too. You and Arni are the only ones with jobs that can be exploited.
Randy
After briefly launching my head into orbit and circling the earth cursing the knowledge I do have…
I will let you all know the following.
A. Most venues have pre-sale tickets open. Get on the venues mailing list (e-mail preferable) and then you will be most of the time given info on how to get tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
B. I put this second but it is one of the easiest tips in ticket acquisition. If you want to see an artist, sign up for the artist fan club. Most fan clubs also have presale tickets. May cost you some $$$ but, it is well worth making the investment to actually get the tickets that you want.
C. Finally, TicketHell. What can I say? Good luck trying to get through.
I may think of more tips…
Ah I just did, some venues after tickets are sold out actually get tickets back due to set up being changed and you have an opportunity to get really good seats (sometimes near sound board) for a reasonable price.
Good Luck Randy!
Thanks Sean. Just the type of thing I was looking for.
Thanks
Randy
Hey, I have a prefectly good job that can be exploited…
I can get you or your family and friends all the John Deere stuff you could possibly want…at very reasonable prices.
I can get you caps pretty cheap too. Depending on my mood, you get them free.
